Heartbeat

When I read page 57 I instantly thought this is meant to be a big impact on the book, I can't give a direct quote cause I don't have my book but I know that when Annie and her Grandpa were going to feel the babys HEARTBEAT, I knew this will be a big character in the book since it has been talked about so frequently in the book. This could give Annie large amounts of responsibility that she will have to take on that could later on in the book cause trouble to Annie.  Please give feedback and your ideas by feedback I want you to mark me and tell me what I did wrong, thanks!!!

  1. I agree but she said something earlier in the book about having to give up some of her room for the baby. This may cause some problems later on in the book. I also think this could impact the book alot because the title of the book is called heartbeat so that may be an important piece of information.

  2. Zoe and Andre,

Very interesting responses. I thought this was a very powerful moment and I wondered if there might be multiple meanings to heartbeat in the book. If the baby's heartbeat is one of the meanings what might be another meaning? I think of what it might mean to Max? Or to Annie and her running?

Andre - I think is an excellent respose - I think it is a level 3, you would need to explain why you feel that the Baby is going to be a big character and how the heartbeat links to the title of the book!

  3. I think that later in the book, the baby will grow up to be like Annie, and will run, run, run freely. I think this because in a way, Annie followed her grandpa's footsteps (He he, FOOTsteps) because her grandpa stopped running due to him feeling like running shouldn't be competitive, as we discussed before, and Annie is running freely currently in the book, so the baby might run, too. I think that the baby will actually take riunning a step further in the book, to greatly impact the book in the "future".

  4. I think one of the reasons the autor introduced FOOTnotes is because it could be starting to bring the baby in to the book and it might grow up to be just Anne and her grandfather by just running all day long when they were young. The baby is going to be a big character in the book because it might change the perspective of all of Anne's family and the way Anne thinks.
